This is a limited series I hopefully plan to keep up for 2024. My purpose of this series is to give readers who are interested in reselling as a side hustle a glimpse into numbers, and bits of piece of the nitty gritty of reselling. I have been doing this for 15 years part-time. It’s not really a guide, but more of a peek into some numbers & random thoughts on selling. Reselling, even though has its definite downs, has provided additional small income for my family. In general, I work on my own time, which is a huge plus.
Gross Sales For eBay/Poshmark September 2024: $801.88
COGS: $ 196.62
Low Sales -low ASPs compared to last year
In 2023 my gross sales between eBay+Poshmark was $1727.96. This year it is $801.88. There is a number of reasons why my sales are lower. Low inventory, current economic climate, lack of consistent listing, etc. I’m bummed but it’s not stopping me from reselling. September 2023 was also a time I had some high price sales that really helped me with that time. This year I have less inventory too. I also do not have access to thrift stores that are priced low enough for me to source. It’s hard to list consistently when I don’t have the inventory.
Juggling My Kids Schedule & Mine
Another reason why I lack consistency in listing is also my kids’s school schedule is not the same. I’m really out more catering to their schedule. I can’t thrift as much as I should. It is what it is. They do not attend the same school which means pick up/drop off times varies. It’s worth it for them because they love their school. Hopefully next school year Little Princess will attend the same school as Baby Hulk.
