This is a limited series I hopefully plan to keep up for 12 months. My purpose of this series is to give readers who are interested in reselling as a side hustle a glimpse into numbers, and bits of piece of the nitty gritty of reselling. I have been doing this for 15 years part-time. It’s not really a guide, but more of a peek into some numbers & random thoughts on selling. Reselling, even though has its definite downs, has provided additional small income for my family. In general, I work on my own time, which is a huge plus. Especially since I can prioritize my time towards my children, one of who is autistic.

Sales Slowing Down
During the month of December sales tend to slow down. It’s something I’m use to. For reasons being my inventory isn’t curated for holiday shopping. I don’t list giftable items often, nor holiday clothing. Mostly sweaters, cardigans, and pullovers are what is selling.
Since it’s January right now when this posted, sales did slow down during December. I’ll mention it more when I get around to posting my December sales.
Inventory Scarcity
Inventory was also just ….meh. I sourced during December and I notice what I spent on inventory wasn’t very much. The thrift stores just didn’t have that great of a selection. Prices also have gone up,so I have to be very selective with what I purchase to sell. I still have a goal of taking home items that will sell for at least $30.00. I stuck to this rule for 2023 and will stick it. It doesn’t mean I only accept offers/sales for $30. Though it does mean my ASP was definitely higher compared to 2022. I sold much less on 2023 compared to 2022 but I definitely made more profit. I’m very happy about that.
Still Happy With Results
I’m still very happy with my November sales. Considering I went on a family vacation, these numbers are pretty good to me. It gives me hope that I can still do reselling, but focus less on it. Especially with the economy being volatile.
I know I have been posting late with these reports. I’ve just been busy with things not related to reselling.
