This is a limited series I hopefully plan to keep up for 12 months. My purpose of this series is to give readers who are interested in reselling as a side hustle a glimpse into numbers, and bits of piece of the nitty gritty of reselling. I have been doing this for 15 years part-time. It’s not really a guide, but more of a peek into some numbers & random thoughts on selling. Reselling, even though has its definite downs, has provided additional small income for my family. In general, I work on my own time, which is a huge plus. Especially since I can prioritize my time towards my children, one of who is autistic.

Starting The Habit Of Batch Working
Sales are definitely down. Summer slow down, and me not listing enough is the culprit. Still, I was able to try a new listing habit of batch working.
What Is Batch Working In Reselling?
Batch working in reselling is doing similar tasks planned for a specific time frame. It’s prep work. I use to just list as I go. I would take pics in batches, but listing it involved me measuring, and listing as I feel. Well that doesn’t work for me anymore. I easily get distracted with my kids, and other tasks that need to be done.
How I Batch Work Now
Now I keep a notebook and write all measurements down in that notebook. I also take pics, and process them same day. I do all the prep work before the week ends. Then I list through out the week. Some days I list 5 items, some a couple, but having all the information in my ipad & notebook has made listing more likely for me to do. I didn’t think I would like this method, but sometimes I only have a 5 minutes to list. Setting myself a goal of 20 items to list a week is very doable for me now. That equals to 80 items a month. That is more than what I did before batch working my listing process.
How It’s Going
I do not know if I see a difference in sales. Summer slow down is real in my little corner of reselling. I will probably give a more updated review after six months. Though other resellers who batch work have always been positive results.
Reseller Batch Working Goals
When I have more time to source & list, I have a goal of listing 50 items a week. I know that time isn’t now. I don’t have support as a SAHM. I don’t do regular childcare, and I don’t have family nor friends helping me with my kids. When my kids go to school ( both) I know I’ll have more time. Until now this is what’s working for me.
