This is a limited series I hopefully plan to keep up for 12 months. My purpose of this series is to give readers who are interested in reselling as a side hustle a glimpse into numbers, and bits of piece of the nitty gritty of reselling. I have been doing this for 15 years part-time. It’s not really a guide, but more of a peek into some numbers & random thoughts on selling. Reselling, even though has its definite downs, has provided additional small income for my family. In general, I work on my own time, which is a huge plus. Especially since I can prioritize my time towards my children, one of who is autistic.

Getting Rid Of Stale Inventory
For the month of July I sold a bunch of inventory at cost/some loss. I’m not upset about that. It’s the nature of sales in general. Sometimes you get rid of stuff if they have been sitting around too long. It’s a small percentage of my inventory I get rid of. I also submitted a couple of thredup X container store partner kits for the items I delisted. I have mentioned doing thred up partner kits before. I blogged about it in November 2022 about my personal experience sending in a partner kit. I will probably blog about my results this time. Just waiting for some payouts ( if any).
Batch Working Progress
I’m still keeping up the habit of batch working my listing process. I’m pretty proud of myself. It’s been a long time since I’ve been consistent. After the birth of my second child the consistency went away. Then of course my side business suffered so much I wasn’t hitting 4 figures sales a month anymore. I’m hoping the changes I made will improve my sales.
Losing Motivation
Even though I’ve been batch working, I still kind of lost motivation to list. It happens. Life outside of reselling just sometimes prioritizes over reselling. It may seem I use my time as a mom as an excuse, but I think people forget they get things accomplished because they have so much support. I try not to beat myself up over this feeling. It’s usually temporary, and until other things in my life is finally settled.
Slacking Off With Blogging
These past few months I’ve been blogging less. I wish that didn’t happened. I got my listings numbers up, but this also meant putting blogging in the back burner. It’s not something I want to do. I hope I do better these upcoming months.
