This is a limited series I hopefully plan to keep up for 2024. My purpose of this series is to give readers who are interested in reselling as a side hustle a glimpse into numbers, and bits of piece of the nitty gritty of reselling. I have been doing this for 15 years part-time. It’s not really a guide, but more of a peek into some numbers & random thoughts on selling. Reselling, even though has its definite downs, has provided additional small income for my family. In general, I work on my own time, which is a huge plus.
Gross Sales For eBay/Poshmark April 2024: $881.97

Officially Moved
We have been living here in our new home for a month now. On my last post I mentioned I haven’t been mentally myself. I described it as brain fog. At times I feel like I’m more of a shell of myself. It’s obvious I need to find therapy for this. I know this relates to many of life changes I’m going through, but I have a feeling perimenopause is causing me to not feel like myself throughout the day. I am happy that the move is finally done. I can also say it wasn’t what I was hoping for. I have no regrets it happened though.
Finally Opened Closet/Store
From the day we arrived in southern California I kept my stores closed for maybe 2 weeks. Then I opened them back up. I felt anxiety not bringing any income, and we just kept having bills piling up. While what my stores earned isn’t my family’s income, I still had other bills of my own. Basically store fees, posherva, quickbooks, etc was due soon. We were going through our savings so fast. Savings that took us nearly two years to accumulate.
Sales Slowing And Smaller Inventory
After a week of super slow sales I had to remind myself it’s summer. Summer in general is more of just stocking up/prepping for fall/winter. I mentioned before my inventory is low. When we moved I had about 380+ items. I had to get rid of inventory because of miscommunication with the moving company. So before my kids school starts, I want to hopefully bring it close to 600 items.
April Gross Sales Recap
My sales for the month of April 2024 vs April 2023 was a few hundred dollars more. Definitely sold more on poshmark. The best selling category of that month was dresses. I love sourcing for dresses. It’s one of the clothing items people are willing to splurge more due to dresses being worn for special occasions, or its an easy clothing article that people put on to instantly look for “dressed” up. I did ended up selling some dresses for at cost/little profit. I didn’t mind. I was slowly liquidating my inventory at the time for the move.
